The Residences of Repouso do Guerreiro
Repouso do Guerreiro is a project which is inspired by a great person with even bigger plans, from the time that this part of Brazil was known as “New Holland”. Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen, together with his architect Pieter Post created a flourishing colony, adorned with lavish edifices, housing plans and large gardens. In respect and as continuation of Itamaraca’s and Pernambuco’s history and culture, this project is designed in a mix of Dutch and Portuguese architecture. When finished, it will appear as if they have always stood on top of this specific hilltop, and to remain for centuries with the most amazing views of the ocean and the islands interior Mata Atlantica.
The interior of the houses are a more introverted contemporary style, which will give the owner its privacy when he needs it most. The spacious gardens of over two hectares are for exclusive use of the twenty-five home owners, and will adorn only the most beautiful examples of local, regional and exotic flora.
On approach to your residence on a community road, you will shall be able to park your car in front of your home. In the impression of the ground floor above (from right to left), you will walk up to your front porch through your private front garden (37square meter). Now you have arrived at your loggia (11 square meter), giving entrance into your reception area (45 square meter). Just behind your reception area, there is a revolving staircase leading upstairs, to two of your suites. Just behind of the staircase is your sitting lounge (20 square meter). Your sitting lounge is situated next to a semi indoor swimming pool (7x3,7 meter), with on the other side your kitchen and dining area (19 square meter). Behind the kitchen you will find your utility area, restroom and shower. In the hallway behind the kitchen is also your staircase giving acces to a third suite and roof terrace. Just a little bit further, there is the garage with parking for two cars.
On the first floor of your residence (in the impression above) you will find your master suite (90 square meters) on the right, and your third suite (16 square meters)on the left. Both have their own facilities, although the master suite is more spacious, the other suites also have everything you would expect to find. The master suite boasts an extruded glass cube, in which a free standing bathtub is exposed to the blue skies above. Furthermore there is a spectacular view over part of the coastline of Itamaraca, giving the most amazing views of the sunrise in the early morning.
On the second and top floor, you will find the second suite (27 square meters) under the pitched roof. With part of the oceanfront roof glazed, you will still have a view of the ocean and the rising sun in the morning. The roofterrace (16 square meter) above the third suite will have an elevated view over the interior forests of Itamaraca behind whitch the sun sets at night.
